FEW Foundation's Academic Scholarship Program
One of the purposes for which the Foundation is organized is to provide education and training opportunities to current and past members of Federally Employed Women ("FEW"). The FEW Foundation Board of Trustees and Council of Advisors also hope that as scholarships are awarded, non-members will learn about the opportunities within FEW and join a chapter in their area. Visit FEW's website for information on how you can become a member today!

This program has been in place since 2007. The first four-year scholarship was awarded to Barbara Ballew from the Pacific Northwest Region. The second scholarship was awarded to Melody Bigi from the Great Lakes Region in 2008.
Program Background:
Patricia Wolfe, Immediate Past Foundation President, has observed, “As I traveled around the country and visited many Federal agencies, I was often asked what FEW was doing about the shortage of women in the science and technology fields. Because I didn’t have a ready answer, the dream of having a Foundation built around academic scholarships was born.”
Dawn Nester, current President of the Foundation, stated, "The FEW Foundation continues to research additional scholarship opportunities for FEW members, a spouse, or a dependent child. Also available, upon request, are Regional Training Program scholarships for each of the ten regions. The Board of Trustees and Council of Advisors are committed to helping as many people as possible to further their educational, and thereby their career, goals as possible."
FEW’s Foundation for Education and Training is being proactive, helping to develop a talented, qualified pool of future candidates, by partnering with colleges, universities, and companies. Grantham University, a 100% on-line university based in Kansas City, MO, was the first school to offer a fully-funded four-year scholarship, which includes all necessary books and software, to the Foundation. The scholarship program is open to FEW members, a spouse, or dependent child. We invite you to join the FEW Foundation in offering others an opportunity to expand their knowledge in critical career fields.
